At the beginning of June I had the best professional experience working as a Conference Interpreter at SBSTA meetings for Indigenous Peoples from across the globe on the road to COP of the UNFCCC.

I had the chance to listen to practical advice on how Indigenous Peoples can proactively contribute with their traditional knowledge to climate mitigation and adaptation. However, they require safeguards related to knowledge sharing, and to be on an equal footing with relevant stakeholders at rounds of negotiations.

Direct Financial Support from the international community to tackle both tangible and intangible loss and damage is key, so they can carry out projects that have a positive climate impact on our communities.

As we are witnessing daily, we are all victims of Climate Change, and Indigenous Peoples can be part of the solution!
